Mind Practice Consult believes in sharing our expertise with the community and we are humbled by the incredible wealth of knowledge we can tap into when engaging as mentors. We believe in lifelong learning and have equally as much to learn from our mentees. By supporting the youth in their career and leadership development we are investing in our country’s future leadership and economic empowerment.
We have been involved in the Listen, Live, Learn (LLL) Project at Stellenbosch University as mentor to students, guiding them in critically thinking about their world and their interaction with people from different backgrounds. Read more about the LLL programme.
We’ve also chosen to get involved with a Trust, which allocates full scholarships to bright minds from disadvantaged backgrounds. The Geleentheid Trust was founded by Paul Roos scholars who are passionate about making a difference in the Winelands area. Thanks to the monthly contributions of young people, 5 full scholarships are funded. Read more about the Geleentheid Trust.
Mind Practice Consult is passionate about student leadership development. To support Echo’s skills development programme for students of the Helderberg region at University of Cape Town, Stellenbosch University, Cape Town University of Technology and the University of the Western Cape, was a natural alignment for us. We are proud to support this organisation. Read more about Echo.
Heidi is a multi-faceted young woman who has a passion for innovation, mentoring and leadership development. She aims to inspire and train young people with the aim of creating change to make a positive difference in South Africa. She was a valuable asset to LLL as she has creative ideas, vast knowledge on diversity and transformation, and has the ability to stimulate and facilitate dialogue. As she was allocated quite a challenging group of students, Heidi had to manage them in a constructive and dynamic way. In my opinion, as the Manager of the LLL initiative at the Stellenbosch campus, she successfully conducted this."
It is clear that Heidi’s involvement with the Geleentheid Trust is based on her passion to develop South Africa’s youth. She has been acting as a mentor for our scholars since the start of 2013 and approaches her role with astute professionalism combined with zealous enthusiasm. In the short space of time that she has had with her mentees they have developed a strong rapport. Heidi can be relied upon for professional advice and communicates well."
Heidi has done some amazing work with the ECHO students in Voice training and Debating Skills as well as behaviour profiling to support their career development. She has excellent rapport with the students and her method of imparting knowledge is outstanding. The students enjoy her interactive sessions and her ability to hone in on specific behaviour and thinking preferences – the typical “Mind Practice” style. This will certainly benefit them as they are preparing for the world of work. She is a good listener and this is a skill that she shares well with the students when teaching them to do an in-depth analysis of specific scenarios. Her sessions are current, well-researched and carefully put together. We have been privileged to have her as a facilitator."
